The function and evolution of insect storage hexamers.

چکیده
The storage hexamers are a family of insect proteins with native molecular weights around 500,000 with six homologous subunits weighing generally between 70,000 and 85,000 daltons. They are synthesized and secreted by the fat body of feeding larvae and nymphs and reach extraordinary concentrations in the hemolymph just prior to metamorphosis. In holometabolous insects, they are partially recaptured by the fat body during the larval to pupal molt and stored in cytoplasmic protein granules, as well as in the hemolymph of the pupa. They disappear from these reservoirs during adult development; in many insects, both hemiand holometabolous, they are also utilized during the nymphal or larval molts. Their amino acids are primarily incorporated into new tissues and proteins during adult development, but they may also be incorporated into cuticle as intact protein, and in one case were found to be diverted to a small degree into energy metabolism. Finally, some storage hexamers have ligand binding and transport capabilities. Functionally, developmentally, and evolutionarily, they are a complex family of proteins whose analysis promises to be exceedingly useful in the study of many basic problems in the biology of insects.

Numerical Solution of The First-Order Evolution Equations by Radial Basis Function
In this work, we consider the nonlinear first-order evolution equations: $u_t=f(x,t,u,u_x,u_{xx})$ for $0 to initial condition $u(x,0)=g(x)$, where $u$ is a function of $x$ and $t$ and $f$ is a known analytic function. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the method of RBF to existing method in solving nonlinear first-ord...

An integrated optimization framework, including location assignment under grouping class-based storage policy and schedule of dual shuttle cranes, is offered by presenting a new optimization programming model. The objective functions, which are considered at this level, are the minimization of total costs and energy consumption. Scheduling of dual shuttle cranes among specified locations, which...

In the mining industry, at the beginning of development of a project, a consultant is assigned to build a design feasibility study to incorporate the client requirement, government regulation, and other inputs into the design. The consultant usually faces overwhelmed stages due to changes caused by the client and other stakeholders and has to repeat the process of inputting requirements into th...
متن کاملStorage hexamer utilization in two lepidopterans: differences correlated with the timing of egg formation
Most insects produce two or more storage hexamers whose constituents and developmental profiles are sufficiently different to suggest specialization in the ways that they support metamorphosis and reproduction. Hexamerin specializations are compared here in the Cecropia moth (Hyalophora cecropia), which produces eggs during the pupal-adult molt, and the Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus), whi...

Determining the optimal location of wells with the aid of an automated search algorithm is a significant and difficult step in the reservoir development process. It is a computationally intensive task due to the large number of simulation runs required. Therefore, the key issue to such automatic optimization is development of algorithms that can find acceptable solutions with a minimum numbe...
